CELTIC are tracking Irish youngster Sinclair Armstrong, however, English side Manchester City are said to be leading the race for the striker, according to Goal.

The Ireland Under-19 striker is currently contracted to the EFL side, Queens Park Rangers whose manager is Mark Warburton, formerly of the Ibrox side. Despite the reports suggesting Celtic were a potential for Armstrong, Warburton laughed this off.

“Rumours of Celtic and Man City? I’d imagine certain agents have been extremely busy.

“When you see all these names (of big clubs) you just know agents are busy at work in the January window.

“It’s absolute nonsense. Let’s give the boy a chance now for the next stage of his career.” [Glasgow Times]

Armstrong would join fellow countrymen Scales, McCarthy and Kenny at Celtic. The latter of the names is also a young striker, who is deemed to have a bright future at Parkhead, the signing of Sinclair Armstrong would also be viewed in the same light.

Ange did say that he has no plans to bring any new players into the club, so maybe Mark Warburton is right with this one.
