AIDEN MCGEADY had a sit down interview with Simon Ferry and Paul Slane this week talking about his career.

The former Celtic winger left the club in 2010 but had some top stories from his time coming through the ranks and into the first team for OpenGoal.

The one story with many Celtic supporters will find interesting is Aiden’s fued with Artur Boruc during the pairs time at the club.

It came to a head one day in training when Artur and Aiden got into it. When they went back to the changing rooms, Aiden recalls Artur cracking him in the face with a punch, giving him a black eye. After the incident, the goalkeeper went for a shower while Aiden was goaded into having another go at the holy goalie.

“I tried to get him back. I stood up, obviously raging, I’m not going to batter Artur Boruc, am I?

“He is an absolute streetwise, 6ft 4, Polish bear, do you know what I mean?

“I tried to get back at him, everyone is in the middle, and I’m cutting about with this black eye.

“Artur’s like ‘I told you, I told you’ and then walked in the shower, and a few people are about mixing it like, ‘I wouldnae be taking that man’.’

“I just went in the shower after him but he spotted me coming and got me again. I’m trying to wrestle him.”

It’s just another example of what can go on when there’s lots of egos in the dressing room. Strachan’s team won three titles in a row, even with players punching one another.

Boruc was an outstanding keeper during his time with the club. MCGeady was a top youth product who would play his part in the club’s success after being debuted by Martin O’Neill.
