Top Japanese sports journalist, Dan Orlowitz has delivered the latest on Celtic’s pursuit of THREE Japanese players ahead of the January window.
What we can now confirm is Reo Hatate’s contract isn’t up at the end of January and the Hoops will have to pay a fee. How much? Well, this is what reports in Japan are saying, as relayed by Dan on his social media feed.
Transfer fees Celtic reportedly offering & who's reporting them in Japan:
Daizen Maeda: €2m (Daily Sports), €1.5 million rent-and-sign (Sponichi)
Reo Hatate: €1.5m (Hochi)
Yosuke Ideguchi: "not free" (Daily)
Daily also reports all three on contract through at least 2022.

The two solid fees there for Reo and Daizen are still regarded as robbery for the pair. If Celtic land these two players in January for around about the price suggest above, it looks like very good business by the club.
The Maeda deal is likely to take be on loan at first with an option to buy in the summer. There’s no real information on what form the Hatate or Ideguchi deal could take at this point.
Ange is looking to bag himself some bargains and bring his team up a level this January.
If the bhoys can land Ange’s top targets and bring in a European player or two into the mix, we could be looking at our most successful January window ever.
Pay and bring and sell the other dead wood players at the club it is a win win win…
