Celtic are reportedly considering making a move for South Korean midfielder Kwon Hyeok-kyu [Sports Chosun].
He currently applies his trade in South Korea at K-League 2 outfit, Busan IPark but is rated as one of South Korea’s next biggest prospects as Celtic show interest in the youngster. In recent weeks, Ange Postecoglou’s side have also been linked with a move for South Korean striker Cho Gue-sung.
The league leaders look as though they want to bolster their options in midfield as it also being likely that Japanese star Tomoki Iwata will also be making the switch to Glasgow.
There is no doubt that Postecoglou wants to strengthen the midfield and particularly wants a defensive midfielder which Hyeok-kyu can play as well as being versatile to play a bit more futher forward or in defence.
According to the report which has been published it states that the Scottish champions have made an official offer to the midfielder.
He fits the bill of a player that would fit into Postecoglou’s system as he is credited for being able to play at a high-tempo which will be a characteristic the manager values highly.
Once again, Celtic are casting their scouting net far and wide to find some of the best talent out there and have reportedly had offers for the 21-year-old turned down in the past.
Ange is doing a great job with the new Celtic revolution, however, I think we have too many foreign players, what would the team look like when the Asian cup comes around HH
