At the beginning of the summer, all the talk was about one Celtic player leaving on a big money move before the end of the window and it wasn’t Kieran Tierney.

We were still nursing our treble treble hangovers (mines lasted at least two weeks) when reports started coming through Olivier Ntcham was in demand.

The player was subject of a Porto bid last season which was thrown out by Celtic but while the Frenchman was participating in the Euro’s for France Under 21s, it emerged the Portuguese giants had sent scouts to look at the player again.

According to SunSport, the Celtic midfielder was scouted during the tournament. There was also said to be interest from Marseille and Lyon for the player’s services.

Since then, the trail has gone cold on the Ntcham front. The player still not with the squad because of his participation with the under 21s. If Olivier was to leave this summer it would be a deal upwards of £10m, with Celtic holding all the cards when it comes to any transfer.

With the whole Kieran Tierney saga rumbling on, this has faded into the background. Before the end of this window, it will certainly be revisited. It all depends if Celtic bring quality into the midfield.

  1. I do not think any trail has gone cold, what goes on in the background is how it should be done like Professionals and only when the deal is about to be signed it should then become breaking news..
