NEIL LENNON has delivered an update on the current state of play on the transfer front when it comes to new faces.

As of yet, the only business Celtic have done is to renew Moi Elyounoussi’s loan from Southampton for another season.

With the league kick off and Champions League qualifiers just weeks away, there’s a growing frustration among the support the club aren’t moving at a comfortable pace.

If anyone was hoping for an imminent transfer, Neil Lennon appears to rule that out. The Celtic manager letting us know there’s interest in several key signings BUT none were close to completion.

Asked about his budget, Lennon jokingly replied “What budget?” To SunSport.

“Listen, I’ve had no indication from Peter that the climate has changed. It’s business as usual as far as I am concerned. But I’m not close to anything just now. I’m spinning a few plates but there’s nothing concrete at the moment.

“There are a couple of positions that we are looking to strengthen. Goalkeeper is one of them and we are working on a number of options. Hopefully there may be something this week. We are working on a number of options for other positions, too.”

The chaos and aftermath of this summer’s transfer window won’t hit until very late in the day this time around. The window will stay open until the start of October – only then can Celtic truly survey the landscape and know what they have going forward for the rest of the season.

The late opening of the window could prove to be a double edged sword. We have more time to get players in and react to problem positions once the season starts but we can also lose big players a month or two into the season.

  1. It is Neil Lennon’s job to name players he wants in, and it is peter who decides who he sells. Neil is acting as if he has no say in the matter,. this is a man in charge of Celtic and can’t confirm his best eleven on the park .yet can get tore into Leigh Griffith’s who like him self has the same attitude, depression. is a double edged sword and its like he doesn’t give a fuck . as like Leigh such is the beast .yet Neil he played players last week that will never get in our team, for what, as they could have played any time in Lennox town behind closed doors with a invited team.
those that played were for peters benefit not our teams and it will be the same tonight against PSG save face rather than make a stance and put your big boys trouser’s on
