Australian duo Nick Faust and Leo Mazis got the great opportunity to train with the first team squad when they came over to Glasgow from Australia for a short trial.

The 18-year-old defender Faust and 16-year-old midfielder Mazi got to take part in very ‘intense’ training sessions with the Invincibles and have been spurred on by the experience.

Speaking to the Canberra Post, Fauls was full of praise for the club and their current Ozzy export.

“Seeing the intensity of how they train definitely motivates you and we got to train with the first team a few teams and then watch them play, it was awesome,” Faust said.

“Everyone was talking about Tom over there and then we met up with him and talked about Canberra a bit, he was just happy to speak to somebody that didn’t have an accent,”

Defence is certainly an area the Celtic manager is looking to strengthen in January.

While Brendan Rodgers is focused on improving his squad now, the fact that he is still casting eyes over much younger talent in hope of unearthing more future stars for the club in the future is promising.

The Irishman is helping to build the club from top to bottom.
