The club football season ended over the weekend but on the international front, there are still many games to be played.

Indeed, the upcoming European Championships is sparking excitement across Scotland with Celtic players Anthony Ralston, Callum McGregor, Greg Taylor, and James Forrest all in Steve Clarke’s provisional squad for the tournament.

Matt O’Riley will have ambitions of heading to Germany with Denmark while Alistair Johnston’s Canada is looking to win their maiden Copa America title this summer.

Although their international break is not as enticing as other nations’, Ireland still has a few games to play next month.

They welcome Hungary to the Aviva Stadium on June 4th before travelling to face Portugal a week later and in the squad for said matches, three Celts have been included.

After scoring an iconic cup final winner against Rangers on Saturday, departing loanee Adam Idah has made the cut. Liam Scales – who just enjoyed a breakthrough year with the champions – also got called up alongside returnee Mikey Johnston.

These Bhoys will want to make a positive impression on interim boss John O’Shea before a permanent Ireland manager is appointed in due course.
