CELTIC have turned their attention to their defence as they look to build for next season and with Jason Denayer looking like he won’t stay beyond his current loan spell Celtic have been building up a list of options and one of Denayer’s Man City teammates has caught their eye.

It’s rumoured Celtic have been keeping tabs on Dedryck Boyata.

Boyata was a 17-year-old stalwart of the City defence when they lifted the FA Youth Cup in 2008. The Belgian pushed on to join the first team squad, being handed his debut by Roberto Mancini in 2010 and being named the club’s Young Player of the Year that season.

Since then he has found first team football hard to come by. Being loaned out to Bolton and FC Twente.

His contract runs out at the end of the season and he is seeking a new opportunity.

Could Celtic’s Man City links see them land the the 24-year old this summer to replace the outgoing Loanee Jason Denayer….

He would have big boots to fill as the player is currently on course to be Celtic’s young player of the year.
