CELTIC were made joint favourites to snap up former Arsenal and current Swansea goalkeeper Lukas Fabianski yesterday after a flurry of bets.
The 33-year-old was relegated with Swansea last season but it was because of the goalkeeper’s valiant effort that they held on so long before finally succumbing to their fate.
The Polish stopper has been a prominent Premier League player since joining Swansea in 2014 but question marks hang over his future now.
Celtic have just signed Scott Bain on a permanent deal but with Craig Gordon getting on and Dorus de Vries set to move on this summer, Celtic could be in the market if the deal is right.
However, there is no way Celtic would pay anywhere near £5million for a 33-year-old goalkeeper. It would not fit into their model at all.
While Peter Lawwell has said in the past that should a player come on the radar that doesn’t fit into the buy low sell high category – he would still look at it if the deal would greatly benefit the squad.
Celtic might be joint favourites at the bookies but we give this transfer rumour a measly 1 out of 5.
