Celtic’s clash against St Mirren has been given a new fixture date of Wednesday 18 January with a kick-off time of 7.45pm.
The game had originally be scheduled for the previous Saturday but the match has had to be put back due to the Hoops competing in the semi-final of the League Cup now known as the Viaplay Sports Cup.
In normal times, this would be a typical fixture that would see football return to action after the winter break, but due to the World Cup and the break being moved Celtic will have already played a few fixtures before the home match and hopefully booked a place in the cup final.
It will be the first time that both sides have met each other since the Buddies defeated the Scottish champions in September 2-0 on what was a disappointing afternoon for Ange Postecoglou’s side.
Since then Celtic’s league form has been perfect and they will hope that by the time the game comes around in late January their lead at the top of the SPFL Premiership is even further extended.
Going into 2023 there will be a lot more gaps to fill in games with Celtic having no European football duties to fulfil with there only being one midweek fixture scheduled to follow this match.
