CELTIC will head to Easter Road on Wednesday evening, hoping to maintain their winning ways since the World Cup break ended.

The Hoops have managed to maintain their nine-point lead at the top of the SPFL. Ange Postecoglou and his players will know a win against Hibernian will set them up nicely for their trip to Ibrox on January 2.

VAR has become a bit of a sideshow since it was introduced in Scotland this season. The referees make peculiar decisions and stop the game for large periods to assess decisions. Celtic have borne the brunt of some of the idiotic decisions. Before the World Cup break, it felt like Celtic were penalised whenever the ball hit a Celtic player’s hand.

Fast forward to now, and the same kind of handballs are not being penalised.

Celtic are still finding ways to win despite being dragged down by the use of the technology. Ange’s high-paced football being halted for three or four minutes at a time is hardly ideal. Right now, the referees and VAR officials matter more than ever.

As we head to Edinburgh, the SFA has confirmed it will be Alan Muir refereeing the game while Andrew Dallas will be the man in charge of VAR.

VAR can only be as good as the people operating it, and there are major reservations about  our officials and the way they
