It seems like Celtic are stumbling from game to game at the minute without building any sort of momentum in the process. The opening group D Europa League match saw Celtic get a respectable draw against Salzburg away from home. Match day 2 sees Celtic at home against Dinamo Zagreb and anything less than a win will be seen as failure.

It has been documented over and over again that the team is still trying to get used to the way Ronny wants them to play and the fact that the manager is still searching for a dependable starting XI. Of course this doesn’t help when you have players like Lustig, Matthews and Forrest out injured before you really get going. This wont matter a bit come tonight when Dinamo Zagreb come to town, the Croatian outfit beat FC Astra 5-1 in match day 1 and currently top the group. They are also top of their domestic league after 10 games, accumulating 26 points out of 30. This is a team that should not be taken lightly.

Celtic will have their work cut out as the pressure is all on them. Deila wont have the luxury of calling on new Bhoy John Guidetti who isn’t registered for the Europa League.  We will have to rely on the likes of Stokes, Commons, Brown and our other new striker Stefan Scepovic. If these players can click quickly in this game then they can indeed go out and get the three points.

The defence picks itself at present, Deneyar set to come back in after not featuring against St Mirren. Efe Ambrose deputising at right back once again will have a few people biting their nails. Emilio Izaguirre has hit a bit of form lately and lets hope that continues tonight.

At home Celtic should have enough about them to win this game but we are just taking this game by game at the moment, hoping Ronny’s methodology starts to shine through.

A decent run in this competition would do wonders for the team.
