You have to go all the way back to May 2001 for the last time Celtic were beaten by Dundee. That day the away side ran out 2-0 winners against the Hoops.

Since then Celtic have dominated the fixture and on their last visit to Celtic Park they were thumped a resounding 5-0.

Celtic manager Ronny Deila wouldn’t mind another score-line like that today. With Celtic trailing an impressive Aberdeen by 5 points in the league it’s of the upmost importance that Celtic get all three points in the most convincing manner possible.

Aberdeen will kick-off against Hearts today 45 minutes before the Celtic game kicks off so that adds some extra intrigue to this afternoons football. If Hearts could topple the Dons it would give Celtic a big boost.

After Kris Commons recall in the Amsterdam arena on Thursday it is expected the playmaker will start today. He was impressive against the Dutch league leaders and gave Celtic a big boost in the final third.

With Leigh Griffiths putting in a long tiring shift in Holland it remains to be seen if Ronny will start with the Scottish striker this afternoon. He could give Nadir Ciftci his first start in the league, his only other appearance coming from the bench after serving his 6 game match ban.

Celtic will fancy their chances against Dundee but the pressure is on the Bhoys to perform and they must focus at the task in hand.

Our Prediction: 3-1 Celtic
