Celtic take on Falkirk this afternoon at Celtic Park knowing a victory would put them back to six points behind Hearts. The Jamos won their game against Dundee Utd on Saturday evening to extend their lead at the top and now the Hoops are left playing catch up.
The bhoys are coming off a win in the Europa League to book their spot in the playoff round of the competition after a 4-2 victory against Utrecht.

The club is still in the midst of trying to sign players to strengthen the team with just a little over 24 hours left of the January window, but today it’s all about the people who are in the building already. While many expect Celtic to beat Falkirk, this proves a tricky tie and with increased pressure on every game at the moment, there’s no margin for error.
Here is how Martin O’Neill has chosen to line up this afternoon against John McGlynn’s men. Keeping in mind Auston Trusty is suspended after the farcical VAR intervention at Tynecastle last weekend.

Cvancara leads the line with Maeda back out on the left. Dane Murray, interestingly comes in for Trusty. Celtsarehere understands Stephen Welsh has been told he is fourth choice centre-back despite being pulled back from Motherwell to pitch in. As mentioned by Mark Hendry’s Substack.
Ihneacho is on the bench today and could make domestic return from injury since the St Mirren cup final defeat.
Another big day where all Celtic can do is hope to win and keep the pressure on. The game kicks off at 3pm.
