Celtic take on Utrecht tonight at Celtic Park knowing a victory in the competition will take them to the next round of the Europa League.

Despite a tumultuous campaign thus far that has seen none one but THREE managers take charge of Europa games, the bhoys destiny is in their own hands.

However, given the scenario and the weight of a victory tonight the game is still, at this point in time, not a sell out.

Celtic fans are famous for backing the team, especially in Europe, so why the ticket drag?

Celtic vs Utrecht Tickets

This season has been an unmitigated disaster. The Celtic board have conspired at every turn to make the wrong decision, not only that, they’re trying to tell you what a great job they’re doing while messing things up.

The Celtic fans have been let down by subpar recruitment, managerial upheaval and even attacks on the support from inside the board room, and from Ross Desmond at the ill-fated AGM.

It has left a sour taste in the mouth of many supporters who have said enough is enough when it comes to this Celtic board.

The Celtic fan collective have protested and also instigated the ‘not another penny’ campaign which asks fans not to buy anything over and above tickets to support the team.

In years gone by, a night like tonight, we would have plenty of people locked out of Celtic Park desperate to get a ticket. Now Celtic are hoping to sell a few more tickets as the day goes on and maybe a few late impulse buys.

It’s the top tier which has sporadic seats for sale but there will also be season ticket holders on the home cup ticket scheme that could leave their seat vacant because of the current malaise.

It should be another damning indictment of this Celtic board and the way they have treated the squad, the club and its supporters.

Over 2k Utrecht fans will occupy the away end, with Celtic park not sold out and the Green brigade still collectively banned for something which is yet to be proven, it points to a night where the team really need to lift the crowd and in turn the crowd can feed that energy back into the team.

We hope the fans in attendance make it loud for the bhoys as much as possible and deliver knockout football.

Beyond that, we are holding our breath that this board somehow break from the habit of a lifetime and deliver something substantial to improve the squad before Monday;s deadline.
