Carl Starfelt has had an inauspicious start to his Celtic career but he’s not been horrible.

However, after a couple of high profile mistakes – there’s an element of the Celtic support who relentlessly call him out – even when things aren’t his fault.

The latest example of this was the defender being fouled against Dundee Utd but the referee waving play on that led to a potential penalty decision against the Hoops.

We had a swathe of fans and John Hartson coming down hard on the defender for failing to control a poor, zipped ball and then the referee not blowing up for the clear foul.

Carl is adjusting to a new system, country and league – some can do it quicker than others but having watched him up close – he’s certainly got his plus points.

Sweden have seen this because he has again made their international squad.

We wish him all the best with his country and fingers crossed he comes back fit.
