As we reported on Friday night, it looks like it will be job done on Monday and Celtic will be crowned champions of Scotland.

The SPFL clubs met on Friday night and there was a hope among the supporters that the announcement would come by the weekend. Processes involved in calling the league have to be adhered to but now a BBC reporter has backed up the rumours this afternoon.

With the game unable to restart, Celtic are worthy champions. Thirteen points clear of their nearest rivals who utterly capitulated after January.

Neil Lennon changed his style and tactics after the break in a bid to break from the pack and it worked very well.

The players deserve to be called champions and when the announcement is made the bhoys will have also matched the Lisbon Lions nine in a row record.

So, if you like a wee drink, I’d stick a few beers in the fridge for Monday. Please stay safe during celebrations and avoid the urge to celebrate outwith lockdown rules.

We’ll all get to whether at some point and celebrate this achievement.

  1. Even better that the decision has taken this length of time since the suspension of league games in the SPFL, with the ‘rangers’ and their toxic fanbase doing everything in their power to have the season declared null and void.

    Karma really is a bitch.
