Reports tonight of the imminent departure of Neil Lennon tonight come as no shock to Celtic fans who have watched this horror season unfold.

The Celtic manager has fallen from one disaster to the next and the league was lost in January.

Fans have not been happy with how this season has been handled at all from the manager to the board and when the season could still be salvaged, they doubled and tripled down on their manager and it hasn’t paid off at all.

SunSport is reporting once Neil Lennon’s departure is confirmed, John Kennedy will take charge for the rest of this season which only has eight games left to go.

John Kennedy has been part of this woeful setup this season and while it’s likely the right decision to let him see out the season, he cannot be forced upon any new manager who comes in this summer.

It feels like a cloud is being lifted over Celtic Park and we can start planning for the future.

The club needs to rebuild and Neil Lennon needs some respite. We don’t revel in the manager losing his job but it’s the correct decision.

  1. His arrogance in the face of overwhelming evidence will forever tarnish his legacy which now lays in tatters on the dirty rain sodden streets of Glasgow.
