Player turned pundit Tam McManus believes Celtic’s biggest acquisition under Ange Postecoglou is Liel Abada and the Israeli will fetch Celtic a significant transfer fee within the next few years.

Ange has had a lot of signings who could fall into this category. Abada, Juranovic, O’Riley and Jota immediately come to mind when you think of the upside these players have.

Speaking to Football Insider, McManus said, “The standout for me has been Abada, I mean, his numbers are outstanding,”

“When you look at his numbers for a 21-year-old, there is a real opportunity for him to go anywhere he wants.

“His nose for goal is incredible. I do think he can improve his general play, he is a wee bit clumsy at times but he got 15 goals or something like that last season.

“If you can get 10 or 15 goals as a wide man, as a winger, every season then there are going to be big clubs looking at you.

“He is someone who Celtic could get big money for in the next couple of years”

Celtic fans aren’t daft, they know players will eventually move on and look to take the next step in their career. As long as the club have a handle on the deals and don’t let contracts run down into their last year, the club will ultimately benefit.

Abada is a live wire. He’s an exciting young player who’s output is already at a very good level. He’s only 21 and can improve further. There’s every chance Tam could be spot on with his assessment and Abada goes for the most. However, Jota might have something to say about that. There is the potential to break our transfer record over the next couple of years. The current transfer record is £25m for Kieran Tierney.

Right now, we have these guys in our team and playing well. That’s what’s most important to the Celtic support.
