Winger Owen Moffat has left Celtic on a permanent basis, joining English seaside club Blackpool.

Owen has been playing with Celtic’s developmental side and at a brief point when Ange first took over, it looked like he could make the first team squad. After a short stint with the first team in pre-season, Owen was sent back to the B team.

When Celtic were short of players in December, Moffat got a run out against St Mirren, the game ending 0-0.

The player has signed a three year deal with the English club with the option of a fourth. Moffat will not even be a first team player with Blackpool straight away and will join the developmental side.

Owen has saw the lay of the land at Celtic, the competition in the first team for his position is incredible. There was no way he was finding a way into Ange’s plans any time soon.

Speaking to The Blackpool official site, Owen said:

“I’m really happy to sign for Blackpool. The Club has been interested for a few weeks now and it’s good to get the deal done. I want to put some good performances in for the Development Squad and see what happens. Hopefully I can push on into the first-team squad.”

We wish Owen best for the future and hope he can reach his potential down south.

He’s a talented young player who hopefully sh souls to be in the developmental side too long.
