It has been cited in [Irish Independent] that Celtic showed interest in Darragh Burns over the winter but nothing fresh has come of the story since. A few media outlets picked up on the aforementioned Irish Independent story, claiming Celtic could be keen on a move for Darragh. There’s nothing to suggest Celtic have looked at the deal at all this summer.

The St Patrick’s Athletic winger’s deal is up at the end of the season with a hefty compensation fee to be paid for whoever signs the player due to his years of service at the club.

It is believed that the strongest interest in the UK has came from a club down south which would indicate that Celtic are no longer interested in the deal as well as Shamrock Rovers monitoring the player.

Many will instantly think that this is simply going to be another repeat of Liam Scales who made the switch to Glasgow last summer with Dermot Desmond believed to have some influence in the deal due to his connection with both clubs.

Scales just last week moved to Aberdeen on loan with Jim Goodwin likely to use the Irishman as a central defender rather than a full-back which will be something to keep an eye on.

With there being no updates on the player or speculation around a move to Glasgow since the winter it looks as though the 19-year old will likely be heading elsewhere.
