MIKEY JOHNSTON is still an option for Stephen Glass’ Aberdeen, despite announcing the acquisition of Vicente Besuijen, a Dutch winger. [Daily Record]

Johnston has come under a lot of criticism as of late, the bottom line is, he is not Celtic quality and may never be. A move away from Celtic may be the right thing for his career, at the age of 22, he will desire first-team football.

A team like Aberdeen could offer the winger more minutes at a similar level as Celtic, in the top flight of Scottish football.

The report mentions that the Dons are looking to have pace in the forward areas, Mikey Johnston certainly has speed on his side. If he is to build up his confidence he could turn into a really good player for the northeast side.

It is clear to see that Celtic are focussing on outgoings as the transfer window nears a shut. There are plenty of players on the club’s books that will receive little, if any, minutes between now and the end of the season. A move away from Celtic will benefit these players’ careers.
