CELTIC WOMEN beat Aberdeen 3-0 on Sunday afternoon, bringing three points down the road with them.

The Ghirls got off to a flying start, opening their scoring account on the eight-minute mark. The ball dropped to Charlie Wellings, who tapped it into the back of the net from a yard out to bring her goal tally for the season to 25.

It was then chance after chance for the hoops. A second goal was on its way.

After a controlling first half, it came to a close with Fran Alonso’s side leading 1-0.

The second half started how the first ended; the Ghirls were running riot.

Again, eight minutes into the second half, the Hoops doubled their advantage through Jacynta with a rocket of a strike.

The Ghirls continued to cause problems for Aberdeen. On the 65th minute, Alonso turned to his bench, bringing on the first five subs.

Then, in the last minute of the game, Tegan Bowie netted the ball. The ball was played through by Atkinson, the two subs combining to seal the three points for the Hoops.

Despite the win, the ghirls still sit third in the league. Champions League football next season looks off the cards.

You can get the chance to watch the Ghirls at Celtic Park when they take on Hibs on the 26th of March. Season Ticket Holders will be given free access to the match.
