Celtic FC Women are 90 minutes away from a historic achievement as they prepare to face Ukrainian champions FK Vorskla Poltava in the second leg of the UEFA Women’s Champions League Round 2.
The match is set for this evening at the Excelsior Stadium in Airdrie, where both legs are being held due to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine preventing Vorskla Poltava from hosting matches in their home country.
The first leg, which took place last Sunday, saw Celtic clinch a narrow 1-0 victory, despite numerous missed opportunities. This places Celtic in a promising position as they have never been closer to securing a spot in the group stages among Europe’s elite club sides.
The match kicks off at 7:15 PM today, Thursday, 26th September 2024, at the Excelsior Stadium, also known as Albert Bartlett Stadium. Gates open an hour earlier at 6:15 PM. The outcome of this evening’s game will determine which team advances to the group stages of the tournament.
For fans unable to attend in person, the match will be broadcast live on BBC Alba, and available on Celtic TV for subscribers outside of Britain and Ireland.
It’s set to be a big night for the Ghirls. Hopefully, they can get a result! COYGIG!
