Celtic opened the scoring in the 5th minute with Natalie Ross heading in a superb cross from Agnew, which was set up by Menglu’s excellent work on the wing. This early goal set the tone for the match, with Celtic asserting their dominance early on.

The first half continued with intense competition, including a controversial moment in the 12th minute. Gibson’s effort was disallowed by the referee for a foul a decision deemed harsh considering the minimal contact on the goalkeeper.

The second half saw Celtic maintaining their lead, with an early substitution replacing Agnew with Loferski. In the 50th minute, Shen’s free-kick led to a corner, from which Amy Gallagher capitalised, showing great composure at the back-post to double Celtic’s lead.

The highlight of the match came in the 71st minute, a stunning goal by Kit Loferski. The substitute brilliantly flicked the ball down the line, outran her marker, and delivered a spectacular finish into the side netting, leaving the Glasgow City defence in her wake.

Reacting to the match, Fran Alonso said:

“I feel very proud. I thought we were outstanding from the beginning to the end, very focused, good decisions against you know, a very good side, I think. They conceded six goals all season, and we scored three against them. That’s incredible. I’m very, very happy.

“I couldn’t be any prouder of the girls, super performance, and you know, a very very proud coach.”
