Fran Alonso’s side is gearing up for the Champions League fixture next month and has started pre-season well with two victories over English opposition.
Today, they took on Burnley with some familiar and new faces in the side, with the latest signing, Charlie Wellings, going straight into the starting 11.
She even played her part in the game’s only goal, setting up Kathleen McGovern, laying her off for a shot inside the area, which the Hoops striker finished well in off the post.
Pre-season is, of course, all about regaining fitness, but I am sure Alonso will be delighted with the two wins so far.
Next month, the Ghirls travel to Trondheim to take on Spanish side Levante before the winner of that tie faces off against either Rosenborg or Minsk to see who progresses to the next round of the competition.
