This encounter gives Celtic an opportunity to avenge previous cup exits to Rangers, who have posed challenges in domestic cup runs in recent years. With Celtic currently not doing so well in the SWPL1, the stakes couldn’t be higher.
Ahead of the Sky Sports Cup showdown, Celtic will continue their campaign in the SWPL1, aiming to maintain their pursuit of Glasgow City and Rangers and push at the top of the table after their first league win last season.
It’s been an up and down season for the Hoops for far, with some inconsistent results and performances.
There’s been a lot of changes to the team, from the usual overhaul in the summer to the differing starting line ups that the manager has put out weekly.
However, the cup gives the Ghirls the chance at some silverware, and putting out Glasgow City and Rangers would really boost their chances of lifting the trophy.
