Celtic women are used to making history these days. They almost won the league last season but secured their place in the Champions League, where they will make their debut this month.

Fran Alonso is trying to build on last season and hopefully go one better in the league. To do that, we need to think outside the box and bring the very best into the club.

Celtic have been scouring the globe for talent for the women’s team and today they announced the historic signing of Shen Mengyu from China; the first Chinese women to sign for a UK club.

The ghirls gave supporters a bit of respite last season from the men’s first team by going from strength to strength after lockdown. Grabbing some memorable results and taking the league down to the final day of the season against the power house which is Glasgow City.

We can’t wait to see what they have in store for us this season.

  1. Watching the Celtic women’ games was a breath of fresh air,no rolling about pretending to be seriously injured after slight tackles and wee pushes.Just a well coached, close knit unit proud to wear the Hoops….actually smiling and enjoying their sport…
