Celtic Women claimed a decisive 6-0 win against Hamilton, securing their place in the quarter-finals of the Sky Sports Cup.

Menglu opened the prolific spree of goals with a stunning distant shot, a celebration post, lofting the ball meticulously into the top corner and initiating the scoring rally within the initial minutes of the match.

By the 6th minute, a long ball from Craig into the box enabled Caitlin Hayes to exhibit her reach and agility, nudging the ball in at the near post and doubling the lead.

In the 15th minute, the Celtic squad showcased resilience and synergy as a corner from Agnew was played back across the box and, following a brief skirmish, Paula Partido utilised her strength to ensure the ball crossed the line, marking Celtic’s third goal.

Menglu, turning from scorer to provider in the 22nd minute, maintained possession at the byline to deliver a precise cross to Celya Barclais, who turned it in, elevating the score to 4-0.

Despite the substantial lead, Celtic did not let up, with attempts from Loferski and Addi being thwarted before the conclusion of a dominating first half performance at 4-0.

The rhythm of Celtic dominance continued into the second half, with a 53rd-minute strike from Imane Addi, aided by a sharp pick from Cavanagh, bringing the score to 5-0.

The final flourish came in the 75th minute, as Colette Cavanagh capped off a fluid one-touch play, finishing it off with a low strike under the keeper, cementing the score at 6-0.

Celtic have their name in the hat for the quarter-final draw!
