Celtic FC Women are set to face Ukrainian champions FC Vorskla Poltava in the UEFA Women’s Champions League Round 2.
This follows their victories over KuPS and FC Gintra, marking the first time Celtic Women have advanced to this stage. Their league title win last season ensured an easier side of the draw for the Ghirls.
FC Vorskla Poltava, currently second in the Ukrainian Women’s Premier League, have shown formidable form by consecutively winning the league over the last three seasons. They also demonstrated their strength in the Champions League by securing big wins in the first round qualifiers.
The upcoming knockout tie will see both matches hosted in Scotland, at the Excelsior Stadium in Airdrie, due to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
The first game is scheduled for Sunday, 22 September, at 12 pm, with the return fixture on Thursday, 26 September, at 7:15 pm.
🍀 We will host both legs of the #UWCL Round 2, as we take on Vorskla Poltava at the Albert Bartlett Stadium.

This presents a significant opportunity for Elena Sadiku’s team to make history by reaching the group stages for the first time, continuing their impressive run in the competition.
It also gives fans a great opportunity to get behind the team as they look to make history. Although the Falkitk game is on the Sunday, Celtic have no midweek game that week, so fans have a great chance to get along and support the team.
