Celtic Working on Major Appointment – Reports

SSB Pundit mark Guidi has given Celtic fans the biggest indication yet that the huge structural change in the way Celtic operate is already underway and the incoming CEO knows all about what’s going on as this season comes to a close.

Dominic McKay will leave his Rugby SRU post this summer and start officially in July for the Hoops.

It doesn’t give McKay a lot of time between then and what would be our first Champions League qualifier 20 days after he takes his seat in the Celtic hierarchy.

Mark Guidi has filled Celtic fans in on what’s going on behind the scenes because right now, supporters are being told nothing by the club.

“One thing I think that is going to happen, and that Dom McKay is in total favour of, is the introduction of a Director of Football or Technical Director, whatever you want to call it.” Guidi explained to SSB.

That process is well underway, well underway, and there are names on the list. I think at least one person has been sounded out, if not interviewed, so that is going to happen for sure. And then the rest of the structure will slowly but surely take place.

“But, all Celtic supporters and all season ticket holders that have put the money into the club will be debating whether they put money into the club next season. They need to know what is happening at their football club.”

The reason to believe or simply be optimistic the club are pushing forward is the way they handled the appointment of McKay in the first place. While there was strong rumours of Peter Lawwell retiring, there was no word about any successor and the club simply just released the news when they had their ducks in a row.

It could very well be the case again. There’s no way you can appoint a new manager if you plan on bringing in a director of football, they have to have a big say in who will be the gaffer going forward.
