Celtic’s Scottish international players have received the dates for their up-and-coming play-off semi-final and potential final against Ukraine and Wales in June.

Steve Clarke’s side, which was expected to include Celtic stars such as Callum McGregor & Greg Taylor, were originally due to play out their final World Cup fixtures in March.

However, due to the current ongoing issues in Ukraine, the original game was postponed, with the hope of playing the fixture at a later date.

That date has now been announced, with the Tartan Army set to take on Ukraine at Hampden on the 1st of June. A win in that game, would then see them travel to Wales on the 5th of June to play for a place at the tournament in Qatar later this year.

With injury issues to players in the same position and a potential Champions League final just days before the semi-final for Liverpool defender Andy Robertson, the Ukraine game could prove as a good opportunity for Greg Taylor to earn a starting spot.

Players such as David Turnbull and James Forrest will also be hoping for a late burst into Steve Clarke’s squad, with Callum McGregor being an almost guaranteed starter at this point.

Those involved in June’s qualifying fixtures are expected to have a busy month, with Scotland potentially facing up to five fixtures due to UEFA Nations League games scheduled days later.
