Celtic youngster Adam Montgomery has picked up his first goal contribution for Aberdeen this afternoon.

The 19-year old was handed regular minutes under Ange Postecoglou during the first half of the season. But has since found game time to come by, which led to the decision of the left-sided player being loaned out to fellow Scottish Premiership side Aberdeen.

It has been a difficult start to life at Pittodrie for Montgomery, given the change of management over the last week, as Stephen Glass was sacked from his role.

However, the Celtic loanee appears to have made a good start to life under new manager Jim Goodwin, picking up an assist this afternoon.

Montgomery set up the opening goal of the game for the Dons, playing 70 minutes in the 1-1 draw at Fir Park against Motherwell.

Hopefully, with the new management team in the door, Montgomery can become more settled within the side under Jim Goodwin, who will be looking to turn Aberdeen’s fortunes around after a disappointing campaign so far.

The youngster is clearly rated by those at the club, signing a long-term contract towards the back end of last season. So, fingers crossed, this spell can prove to be a good contribution to his early development as a Celtic player.
