Earlier in the week, it was reported that Celtic youngster Ben Doak would be heading to English Premier League side Liverpool, with the Hoops failing to keep a hold of the talented winger.

It appears that Celtic well and truly had a fight on their hands, with several sides, including current Champions League holders Chelsea looking to sign the Scotland u17s internationalist up for a small fee.

According to a report from the Daily Mail, Liverpool have won the race to sign Doak, getting in before Chelsea, with the fee reportedly costing Jurgen Klopp’s men only £150,000.

It is hugely disappointing to lose one of our best young talents at this moment in time, especially for so cheap like the fee that is being suggested.

But when you look at the sides who were sniffing around, it doesn’t really come as much surprise — especially having lost players to the likes of Bayern and Manchester City over the last few years.

The move is still to be officially confirmed, with Doak pulling on the Hoops for the B team in a disappointing defeat at Ibrox yesterday.

But it is undoubtedly a case of if, and not when with this transfer.
