CELTIC offloaded Vakoun Bayo on Friday when the player signed a permanent deal with Gent over in Belgium.

The striker never made the grade at the club and while his loan club from last season wanted to keep him, they didn’t have the funds to make it happen.

Celtic never disclosed the transfer fee for Vakoun but SunSport today claim the club clawed back £1.4m for Bayo.

Under the premise ‘every little helps’ – the money should go straight into the coffers as Celtic pursue their targets for next season.

It’s crazy to think Celtic have their first competitive game in less than two weeks and we are not really anywhere near ready with regards to the makeup of the current team.

Players who have wanted away for a long time are still at the club and there have only been two new faces to date; Liam Shaw and Osaze Uroghide.

If Celtic have any chance of wrestling the title back this season, they must kick into gear and get the manager some quality reinforcements.
