CELTIC and whoever is in charge come the summer transfer window has a big task ahead.

There’s so much still in play with regards to what players will go where and who might stay a little longer.

However, as we look at the rebuild in-hand, there’s money coming in between now and the end of the season which should mean Celtic should be planning as we speak.

We count Celtic will have brought in just under £16m by July. This is down to player sales and the sell-on clause in Moussa Dembele’s contract.

Frimpong’s money reviewed from Leverkusen and Oli’s inevitable permanent switch to France gives Celtic a platform to look to the future.

These three deals are there for Celtic and the club will get that money. All of the below won’t be earmarked for transfer activity after the club reported a loss but you have to imagine a large portion will go into rebuilding.

Moussa Dembele £1.5million (Glasgow Live)

Olivier Ntcham £4.5m (Sky Sports)

Jeremie Frimpong £9.9m (TransferMarkt)

The Hoops also have four loan players who will go back to their clubs, according to Football League FC, Celtic are paying just over £60kpw for Diego Laxalt, Shane Duffy and Moi Elyounoussi; Jonjoe Kenny’s wages have not been disclosed by the website. That will come off the wage bill. You have Scott Brown coming to the end of a £25kpw deal as well, so there is certainly room for new faces.

You then have the likely sale of Odsonne Edouard which should push the coffers up by £15m-£20m.

There will be money there for whoever is in charge but it’s absolutely vital we do not squander cash on projects as we have in the past.

We need ready-made players to integrate with a core group of lads and sprinkle in some of our more talented younger players.

£16M is a start, but the club must appoint the people who are going to be in charge, so they can get on with things.
