We will be highlighting many players in this current Celtic team over the coming weeks, but today, let’s take a moment to appreciate Celtic’s recent signing, Alistair Johnston.

Johnston joined Celtic in January from the Canadian side Montreal, following a standout performance in the World Cup with Canada. Filling the void left by Josip Juranovic, who moved to Union Berlin, Johnston has undoubtedly strengthened our team and bolstered our defensive capabilities.

Under the guidance of manager Ange Postecoglou, Johnston has been a revelation for Celtic. His presence in the squad not only solidifies our defence and gives us more character.

The Canadian right-back is on the verge of surpassing the major medals tally of the Rangers captain, James Tavernier in a mere six months, while it took Tavernier over seven years in the top flight to achieve his two medals. Now, that’s what you call an impressive feat or unimpressive if you’re in Tav’s shoes.

As a Celtic fan, it’s hard not to feel a sense of satisfaction as we witness their struggles, especially when our own team is thriving. A guy in Glasgow six months is outshining someone they put into their hall of fame.

However, let’s turn our attention to the exciting possibility of a treble and another possible medal for everyone in our side. With a crucial match against Inverness on June 3rd, the Bhoys are on the brink of achieving something truly special – an eighth treble!

It’s an exciting time to be a Celtic supporter as we celebrate Alistair Johnston’s rapid success and the potential for even more accolades.

Alistair has made 18 appearances for Celtic this season and we’re uncertain at this point if he will have any more say in this campaign after picking up an injury in the semi-final against The Rangers. In those 18 appearances he’s helped Celtic win the league cup, the league and helped us to the Scottish Cup final. He’s played in FOUR Glasgow derbies and hasn’t lost a single one [3 wins, 1 draw].

If Ange and the club can pull more players out of their hat like Alistair this summer, the Hoops will continue to dominate.
