Celtic centre-back Cameron Carter-Vickers has reportedly caught the attention of Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen, who are searching for a new defensive addition as they chase Bayern Munich in the German title race.

While no formal bid has been lodged, reports suggest that Xabi Alonso’s side sees the USA international as a potential target. Carter-Vickers, however, appears unfazed by the speculation, remaining fully committed to Celtic and their immediate goals.
When asked about the reported interest ahead of Celtic’s trip to Dundee, the 27-year-old dismissed any distraction.
“For me, not really, to be honest, because there’s always going to be talks in the papers and stuff like that,” Carter-Vickers said on Celtic TV. “First of all, a lot of stuff you read is not always true.
“And for me, as long as I’m here, I’m prepared to play each game to the best that I can. “it’s always nice to know that people are kind of taking notes of your performances.
“But again, like I was saying, you never really know how true it is when you just read it on the paper or on a website or anything like that.”
Carter-Vickers has been a cornerstone of Celtic’s defensive setup under Brendan Rodgers, with his consistent performances earning widespread praise. The centre-back, who is contracted at Celtic Park until 2029, is said to be happy and settled in Glasgow.
His calm approach to the speculation will be welcomed by Rodgers, who will undoubtedly see Carter-Vickers as a key figure in Celtic’s domestic and European ambitions. With Champions League knockout qualification still a possibility and the Premiership title race all but secured, Carter-Vickers remains crucial to the Hoops’ plans this season.
Leverkusen’s potential interest comes as no surprise, given Carter-Vickers’ performances for both club and country.
While the speculation is flattering for Carter-Vickers, Celtic fans will hope the defender continues to stay focused on his current role, especially with the January transfer window underway.
