CELTIC’S next Champions League opponents, Bayern Munich have had the week from hell culminating in a 2-2 draw and losing Frank Ribery to injury.

After suffering defeat to PSG midweek and sacking their manager Carlo Ancelotti the club’s week went from bad to worse with the German side blowing a 2-0 lead against Hertha Berlin and losing a pivotal player.

Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic admitted the leg injury sustained by Franck Ribery on Sunday “does not look good” and the player could face a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

Bayern are currently five points off the pace in the Bundesliga and struggling to get going this season.

Celtic are due at the Allianz Arena on the 18th October and could be facing a Bayern side still struggling for form. There is never an ideal to play a team like Bayern but it can’t hurt that the club aren’t at their best.
