IF you’re of the opinion Celtic should be able to head to Easter Road on Saturday afternoon and get a result then think again!

Before every game, we look at the stats, results and head to head of our opponents and when looked up Celtic and Easter Road, three points is rarely on the cards.

To put it into perspective, Celtic haven’t won a game at Easter Road in the league since 2014. The last time the bhoys managed to defeat Hibs on their own patch and take all three points, Virgil van Dijk scored that absolute belter of a free-kick as we ran out 4-0 winners.

Here’s the team from that day:

We have won once in the Scottish Cup since then. The stat does sound worse than it is, you have to remember Hibernian were relegated during this period and we went some time without a game at Easter Road. The pandemic also stopped us from playing fixtures at the ground.

It was 1-1 in the league the last time these two met at Easter Road, before that 2-0 to Hibs, 2-1 to Hibs and 2-2.

We know we’re in for a fight and with our defence looking so sloppy at set-pieces, nothing is a given. We have to earn the right to play then go and get the result. A poor performance will lead to a defeat or dropped points.
