Celtic will be back in action on Saturday night!

It’s almost strange to talk about the football side of things after weeks of managerial speculation. It’s even strangers that the game on Saturday actually has stakes.

The league was given up before the new year by Celtic and their insipid performances under Neil Lennon. Many fans have felt a sense of hopelessness and just want this season to come to a close.

BUT! There’s one more trophy to fight for and I believe the players, the manager and the whole club should be pulling towards trying to win the Scottish Cup for the fifth time in a row.

It’s incredible to think before this season our record in cup competitions was so fierce nobody fancied playing us. It was a run of 35 games, a period of unprecedented dominance over Scottish football. The defeat to Ross County at Celtic Park put an end to it all.

We now have a scenario where Falkirk are coming to town and they’ll fancy their chances if they can ruffle some feathers.

The team must send out a Scottish Cup statement on Saturday night. John Kennedy must also look at his whole squad and decide who wants this the most. The same old players giving the same turgid displays must stop.

It’s going to be a big ask but has this team got one last trophy run in them?
