Celtic faltered to a 1-1 draw at home to Kilmarnock on Saturday afternoon in what was a huge blow for their title hopes.

Kyogo Furuhashi opened the scoring in the first-half, but David Watson’s late equaliser secured a point for Killie.

Boos rang around the stadium post-match and it seems as though the league championship is slipping away from Celtic.

Today was their fifth draw of the campaign. This, coupled with the fact they have lost two matches throughout the campaign means they have dropped a total of 16 points in 2023/24 to date.

In the entirety of last season, the Hoops dropped 15 points. Considering there are still 12 games to go between now and the season’s end, such a finding is damning.

It shows the vast regression from the Ange Postecoglou era while also serving to display the potential sense of complacency within the club.

Things need to improve between now and the end of the season, or the title will end up in a place fans don’t want it to.
