With the Scottish League Cup final being played today, it brings to an end Celtic’s run of four trebles in a row which each started with a League Cup win at Hampden Park.

Aberdeen, Motherwell and Rangers all stood in the Hoops path in recent years at Hampden Park in the League Cup final, to try and be the first to stop this impressive run over the last four seasons.

After being knocked out of this year’s competition at the second round stage by Ross County was when we knew the domestic dominance of trophy after trophy would come to an end. But today it officially comes to an end as Livingston and St Johnstone battle it out to be the new holders of the competition.

One impressive stat has come from this final that if the Saints were to go on and win this final, they would become the second most successful Scottish side in the last decade. For content, their only other trophy win was the Scottish Cup in the 2013/14 season.

It just shows how much Celtic have dominated over the years. Other teams have won the competitions at times but there are no others who come close to Glasgow Celtic.

This season has been an extremely disappointing one with not highs to look upon and we have now got a lot not work to do going forward to get ourselves back to where we want to be.

One thing you can’t take away but is the memories of an incredible period of success that won’t be seen again.
