Carl Starfelt tuned into Celtic’s first competitive game of their new season tonight. Posting on his Instagram story, the defender posted a boomerang of himself watching Celtic’s one-all draw with Danish side Midtjylland while enjoying a steak.

Fabrizio Romano confirmed that the deal to bring the 26-year-old to Glasgow was complete and should be announced soon. [Read More]

In tonight’s match, Celtic demonstrated how weak the defence was, looking weak at many points throughout the game despite a stand out performance from Steven Welsh. The signing of Starfelt would surely help solidify the centre of defence, meaning fans may not have to witness Nir Bitton playing the position again.

If Celtic were to announce Starfelt he will not feature in the return leg in Denmark next week. To be part of the squad, players must have been registered on Monday the 19th at 11 pm.

Celtic will have to replace the suspended Nir Bitton with Osaze Urhoghide, Leo Fuhr Hjelde or Dane Murray who took the Israeli’s place tonight.

  1. Think both teams are poor and neither will get very far in the Champions League. That said Celtic were the better side but what was that numpty Bitton doing. Yes, the guy dived but while on a yellow card you walk away. The Player was a mile offside anyway. Opponents goal was a very weak one to give away.

  2. Thats the second time Bitton has done that in a crucial game, but the quality of the refereeing was abysmal. Was pleased with Christies contribution thats the best game he’s played in 2 years, young welsh and murray can take a lot of credit as can the captain there are positives there to build on and big eddy would have put that away a couple of years ago, dont think we are out of it but it is now a huge task.
