Patryk Klimala made his official move to to New York Red Bulls on Thursday and in doing so helped fill Celtic’s coffers.

Nobody imagine the club would get much money back for the striker who only made 28 appearances for the club BUT they’ve managed to do it.

According to HeraldSport, the club will recoup a large amount upfront with the rest coming in addons.

Herald and Times Sport understands Celtic will recoup their spending fee for the player despite the lack of game time he managed at Parkhead. It is believed the fee received will come to around €4million with add-ons.

It’s good news for Celtic. They have started to build their transfer fund for the summer and have got rid of a player who wasn’t going to be utilised.

Klimala showed effort and determination but he didn’t show enough when he did get his chance in the team. The frontman only scoring three goals.

Sometimes clubs and players just don’t suit each other and Patryk should be better in a side who wants to counteract and hurt teams on the break.

Celtic recouping a decent transfer fee should be seen as good business but you have to remember we signed Patryk with no real plan for him and it was clear Neil Lennon didn’t know much about the forward.

We wish Paddy all the best at his new club. He joins Cameron Harper in New York who made the move back in March.
