To be honest, we don’t see Neil Lennon going with a group of youngsters for the game against Milan on Thursday but could he spring a surprise or two on the night?

We have been asked through our social media channels, who exactly is available for the game on Thursday night.

One player who kept cropping up who fans would like to see is Luca Connell. Unfortunately, the Irishman is NOT eligible for the game after dropping out of the Europa squad for Diego Laxalt at the last minute.

There are not many who have missed the cut so here’s who is registered:

A list: Barkas, Bain, Hazard, Jullien, Taylor, Duffy, Ajer, Frimpong, Elhamed, Laxalt, Bitton, Brown, Soro, Rogic, Ntcham, McGregor, Forrest, Griffiths, Ajeti, Klimala, Turnbull, Christie, Edouard, Elyounoussi.

B List: Ryan Mullen, Liam Hughes, Stephen Welsh, Barry Coffey, Paul Kennedy, Ben Wylie
Ewan Otoo, Ewan Henderson, Mikey Johnston, Armstrong Oko-Flex, Cameron Harper,  Adam Montgomery, Owen Moffat, Karamoko Dembélé.

What is the B list?

A player may be registered on List B if he is born on, or after, 1 January 1999 and has been eligible to play for the club concerned for any uninterrupted period of two years since his 15th birthday (players aged 16 may be submitted if they have been registered with the club for the previous two years).

There are first-team fringe players who certainly could do with a runout. However, a youngster or two wouldn’t go a miss.

Ewan Henderson is a player who was starting to come into his own before Brendan Rodgers left but since then the youngster has faded into the background. Barry Coffey and Cameron Harper are highly rated within the youth setup and could state their case for a start. Karamoko Dembele is also there but we can’t see him getting the nod.

We don’t want to be embarrassed in Italy but if we play the same old team and we get beat 3 or 4 nil, will anyone really benefit.

It’s a free hit for the fringe players to prove a point. Will Neil Lennon be brave, surely at this point, he’s got nothing to lose.

  1. It’s not a question of Neil Lennon being brave, it’s more a question of is he wanting to scar a promising young player for life by subjecting him to a horde of arseholes on social media baying for blood as young players are likely to make mistakes.
A self-fulfilling prophecy created by pricks that feel they must publish on a daily basis, no matter the damage they are causing. At least there is a semblance of accountability with the MSM
