CELTIC now know their path to the Europa League group stage this season.

The bhoys found out their third qualifying round opponents early this morning when Latvian side Riga booked their place against Celtic.

At UEFA headquarters this afternoon we found out we will play either Sarajevo or Buducnost Podgorica in the playoff if we manage to get past Riga.

Celtic beat Sarajevo home and away last season so Celtic fans will be familiar with the side. Buducnost Podgorica are a side from Montenegro who have made it to the third round of qualifiers for the first time in their history.

Celtic’s draw for the playoff has been favourable considering there could have been a few more difficult ties. However, as we’ve seen, if you’re not prepared for any opposition the right way, it could be detrimental to our European aspirations.

Unlike the Champions League playoffs, there will NOT be two legs and it’ll be a one-off knock out tie, Celtic will be away from home.
