CELTIC are sweating on the fitness of two of their star players ahead of the Europa League tie against Leipzig in Germany.

The bhoys will be flying over to face the club currently sitting 4th in the Bundesliga, but Brendan Rodgers doesn’t know yet if both Scott Brown and Leigh Griffiths will make the trip.

Leigh stayed home and didn’t go away on international duty to work on his fitness, however, Rodgers revealed the player suffered a thigh injury a few days into his new fitness regime and then fell ill with a bug. This left Leigh out of the Hibernian game on Saturday, but it could also rule the striker out of the trip to Germany.

Scott Brown just came back from injury after missing two games before the international break but had to be substituted in the first half after having trouble with his knee.

Brendan Rodgers says the coaching staff will monitor the Celtic captain over the next 72 hours to assess if he can play any part in Germany.
