Celtic now know they have until October 5th to secure Fraser Forster after the transfer window was opened by the SFA.

The usual August deadline will not be adhered to because of the late opening. This means Celtic will be two months into their season before the window closes.

The FIFA deadline will come into play at the start of October which means the club can play the waiting game when it comes to some of their transfers.

There’s a scenario where Celtic sign players on deadline day in October and field them in the Glasgow Derby just over ten days later.

The club doesn’t want to make wholesale changes to their impressive squad who were relentless last term. But freshening up the team and competition for places is vital.

Fraser it a high calibre goalkeeper has to be the priority and you’d like to think Celtic would make that happen well before the deadline.
